Branikki is the pairing of Brandon and Nikki. The whole series seems to revolve around their relationship. As of now in the book series, both characters are stuck between "just friends" and "in a boyfriend/girlfriend" relationship due to numerous romantic approaches made.
Brandon has not yet asked Nikki out officially in any of the books in the Dork Diaries series other than saying how he felt.
Brandon couldn't wait to read Nikki's first article.
Brandon said that Nikki would be perfect at photo layouting.

The letter Brandon sent 'Miss Know-It-All':
Dear Miss Know-It-All,
I met a girl last September and we immediately hit it off. She's cool, smart, funny and a talented artist. I'm beginning to think that we could be good friends or maybe even more. But I'm really bad at expressing myself. And whenever I try to tell her how I feel, I panic and just end up staring at her like an idiot.
My biggest fear is how she'll react because I'm not really sure if she if she likes me back. I'm also worried she'll find out that I don't come from a wealthy family like all the other kids at this school. I haven't told anyone about that because I'm afraid they'll treat me differently.
Should I be honest with her and risk being rejected or keep everything to myself so we can stay friends?
Brandon and Nikki flirt at the meeting with Trevor Chase.
Right before Nikki and Brandon were about to kiss at the Sweetheart dance, MacKenzie interrupts them.
Nikki was late to meet Brandon at Fuzzy Friends due to her singing lesson.
Brandon told Nikki he wanted to write an essay about her for a scholarship competition in order to pay his tuition.
Nikki forgets to meet Brandon at the library to discuss the essay.
Once they reschedule again to meet at the library, Nikki waits for Brandon but falls asleep in the study cubicle and stands Brandon up.
MacKenzie tells the TV crew that Nikki has a messy relationship with Brandon and says she will dump him the next day.
The TV crew does not give Nikki enough time to talk to Brandon about what MacKenzie had done.
Brandon comes to the studio and watches Nikki sing "Dorks Rule!"
After she's done, he tells her he finished the essay but was rejected since MacKenzie stole his topic.
Nikki becomes enraged that MacKenzie stole Brandon's topic.
Nikki suggests that Brandon should come up with another topic before the deadline.
Brandon tells Nikki there is no way he could finish it within two days and wouldn't miss the listening party the band has on Saturday which is the deadline.
Nikki feels angry and tells Brandon that his scholarship competition was much more important than the listening party and tells him to not come.
Brandon becomes stunned and hurt when Nikki said that and rushed out before Nikki apologized.
Nikki becomes upset that she hurt Brandon.
When Nikki arrives at the ski resort where the listening party is being held, she meets Brandon there and he takes pictures of her when she won the Extreme Skiing Competition when MacKenzie got second place.
They go to a spot in the resort and talk about the scholarship competition.
Nikki finally tells Brandon to make his essay entry about her winning the Skiing competition and submit the photos he took of her.
He does that and thanks Nikki for her help.
Once Nikki and her band members sit at the table for the meet and greet, the CDs they were going to sell for the Kidz Rockin' are gone.
Nikki knows that MacKenzie had something to do with it.
She says "Yeah, MacKenzie strikes again! She ruined our first kiss, and now our listening party!" out loud in front of Brandon.
Brandon grins and tells Nikki why she was thinking about that now.
They start blushing, smiling, and flirting.
Nikki finally thinks of an idea to help raise money for Kidz Rockin'.
She thinks of a kissing booth: $3.00 for hugs and $5.00 for kisses on the cheek.
They raise a lot of money for Kidz Rockin'.
Brandon stands up and goes into Nikki's line.
He gives her $5 and kisses her on the lips in front of everyone.
Brandon asks Nikki if she could go to camp with him in the summer.
Since her phone died, Nikki did not view his texts about the information about the camp.
She is devasted when she realizes MacKenzie is highly likely to be the one who's going with Brandon to camp.
In her fairytale dream, Nikki attends a royal ball to meet the Wizard of Odd (aka Principal Winston) so she can go back home.
Instead, she meets Prince Brandon, who asks if he can dance with her.
Nikki agrees and they talk and laugh while slow-dancing.
Just as they were about to kiss again, the clock struck midnight and Nikki rushed out, leaving Brandonupset and confused.
He picks up the glass slipper Nikki left behind.
When she is arrested for treason before the Queen of Hearts (Victoria Steel) and is about to be executed, Prince Brandon comes with Sleeping Beauty (Jenny Chen), Rapunzel (Marcy Simms), Snow White (Violet Baker), Goldilocks (Chloe), and Red Riding Hood (Zoey) to defeat the Queen of Hearts and MacKenzie the Wicked Witch of the West.
After, MacKenzie ran up to hurt Nikki with her wand.
Brandon blocks MacKenzie from doing so and Brianna the Good Witch of the North (Nikki's sister and fairy godmother) turns MacKenzie into a frog.
Prince Brandon and Nikki soon realize that they will never see each other again....only in a different life.
Once Nikki wakes up from her dream and goes to the nurse's office, Brandon comes up to her, concerned.
He heard that MacKenzie lunged a dodgeball to her face, causing her to fall unconscious and have the dream.
Brandon takes Nikki's hands and gazes deep into her eyes and asks if she was okay.
She giggles and says she is fine and thinks that Brandon was such a nice guy, sweet and romantic towards the situation.
When Brandon was tapping on Nikki's shoulder she harassed Brandon on accident while Nikki wasn't looking, Brandon felt so upset of what she said to her and walked away.
when Nikki was at Pet -N- Stuff she saw Brandon walking out of Queasy Cheesy Takeout being shocked due to a nasty rumor about a kiss they shared
They ended up avoiding each other
Throughout the book Brandon becomes more and more guilty about the fact that their friendship is destroyed and regrets that he kissed Nikki on the listening party.
He writes a letter to Miss-Know-It-All under the name Massively Cruddy Friend andasks for advise about what he should do
During lunch time when Nikki was going to the garbage throwing her banana peel away but Nikki accidentally threw her banana peel at Brandon saying sorry to him, but he was offended and left her without accepting her apology.
But when everything came to an end, he apologized for not accepting her apology. Which she happily accepted
Brandon tested Nikki to see her honest response about asking a girl out who he likes. Nikki got jealous and mumbled "If she likes you, why would she say no"
Brandon later asked Nikki out to the CupCakery, hinting that she was the girl who he likes. Which she also happily accepted.
The letter Brandon sent to Miss-Know-it-All:
Dear Miss Know-it-all,
I have a good friend, and she's smart, funny and kind
But lately we haven't been getting along and it's all MY fault. Between a nasty rumor at school and me not telling much about my personal life, she doesn't trust me
And I don't blame her one bit. Whenever I try to talk to her in class, she seems down and kind of distracted, like something is really bothering her. I'm starting to worry about her, and I really miss our friendship.
It's Brandon. Before you ball up this note and toss it away, please read it to the end.
I'm still not sure what happened exactly, but I've been really bummed since we quit hanging out. Biology isn't the same without us goofing off during class and you laughing at my lame jokes. I miss washing dogs with you, even though we end up getting more dog shampoo on ourselves than on them. And the dogs miss you too!
Was it because of that...um, well, what we did at the kissing booth, at the end of the party? And the rumor that came out afterward? I'm sorry I made you feel bad. I definitely wish I hadn't done anything to mess up our friendship.
You said something about how you don't even know me. So what if we meet at the CupCakery after school today and grab some red velvet cupcakes- my treat! I'll tell you anything you want to know about me (and not worry that you'll think I'm weird) I've learned that honesty and trust are vital in a true friendship.
If you decide NOT to hang out today, I totally understand. I guess that will mean I don't really deserve your friendship. But it would me happy if you please give me another chance.
Brandon asked Nikki out to the CupCakery to relax and grab some cupcakes, which was his treat.

They had fun chilling with each other while talking about numerous things.
They were about to have their second kiss when Mackenzie interrupted them again.
Brandon and Nikki becomes ticked off
Mackenzie starts flirting with Brandon in front of Nikki and ignores her being right there.
Brandon becomes angry, defends Nikki and calls Mackenzie a sociopath
Brandon and Nikki later walks to Fuzzy Friends to hang out a little bit
Brandon tells Nikki that they can't have more animals at the shelter and that the dogs might meet a fate they don't deserve
Brandon was on verge of tears about the thought and hugs the dog, making Nikki concerned.
Nikki promised Brandon to help him with the dogs. Brandon smiled as they shared a high-five
Brandon visits Nikki in the library to tell her that she was awesome after everything they've gone through and asks her if they could go to the CupCakery again sometime.
Brandon met Nikki as she was walking her dog Daisy, seeing that Nikki had gotten all messy with mud
Brandon did his best not to laugh and then teased her about what was going on
Nikki rolled her eyes at his immaturity
Brandon offered to train Daisy with obedience training.
Nikki happily accepted and suggested the Wednesdays and Saturdays for the training
Nikki told him that Daisy is going to love his company
Brandon blushed, telling Nikki that he was looking forward to hang out with her and not her dog.
Brandon then told Nikki how he truly felt about her
Nikki giggled to Brandon that she felt the same, making Brandon extremely happy according to her diary.

After. Zoey, Chloe, Brandon and Nikki met in the library and talked about a tour.
Nikki was told by Brandon that it felt like André was into her or something, hinting that he was jealous.
Brandon started noticing André and Nikki hanging out more and more, this made it worse when someone had posted pictures up on the internet showing off how cute André and Nikki was, claiming they were a couple.
Mackenzie then, under bio class. Showed Brandon pictures of Nikki and André to make it look like they were 'totally in love¨'
Nikki felt how Brandon stared at her in shock and disbelief throughout the lesson, but would avoid eye contact
Brandon started to avoid her, looking seriously upset
Nikki ran up to him when class had ended and asked him if they could talk
However, he told her that he didn't have time to, exclaiming that she was too busy with André
Then, when Nikki didn't understand what he meant. He narrowed his eyes behind her at André who ran to Nikki with her backpack.
He started to avoid her again and would sit alone, listening to music while looking upset and extremely sad.
Nikki stated in her diary that she would never forget his face that day
Nikki tried to make it up to him by writing to letters to each boy, leaving the envelopes to the both of them. However, it messed up and they got the wrong letters.
Brandon met Nikki at Queasy Cheesy, holding a pizza pox and thanked her for "his" letter
He went to pay for the pizza when André also came to the restaurant with balloons and pastries
Brandon came back and looked at André with a sight of disgust
They had a confusing discussion that led to more drama
Brandon gave up and decided to leave, ending their friendship and everything they could be
But then, everything came to a light when they got to know what actually happened and Brandon apologized deeply, not knowing he was the guy Nikki was into

Although these moments weren't in the books, Brandon and Nikki share a lot of moments at Nikki's blog.
Brandon wrote a note on Nikki's Christmas card which said: "Merry Christmas, Nikki. I put a lot of thought into what to give you. I hope you like this!”
Nikki thinks that the picture inside the frame looks as if Brandon is into her.
Brandon asked Nikki's mom to take a picture of Nikki opening the present.
Brandon texts back after a minute: “Cute picture! I hope you liked my gift. Merry Christmas Nikki :)"
Nikki decided to call Brandon about biology since he was sick.
He picked up the phone at the first ring which surprised Nikki.
Her mom said, “Did you go? To the bathroom? It’s going to be a long drive!”
That embarrassed Nikki on the phone and quickly hung up.

The Branikki location is Westchester Country Day, since Brandon and Nikki both go to school there and first met there. Fuzzy Friends could also be the Branikki location since that is their hang-out spot.

Squeeeee!! I found out that Brandon got me an AWESOME Christmas gift! I was walking by his locker yesterday right as he was getting a book out, so he didn’t see me behind him. Good thing, because if he had, he wouldn’t have told Theo that he “bought her something for Christmas that she’s going to LOVE!”
