Richard Zimmerman, known in the books as Mr. Zimmerman, is a school newspaper adviser, who was introduced in Dork Diaries: Tales From A Not-So-Smart Miss Know-It-All, and has appeared in 2 books since. He started an advice column for Nikki Maxwell, called "Miss Know-It-All." He is described as a "psychopath." He used to be an editor in the Wall Street Journal. Lauren Walsh works for him, as his assistant.
Personality[]
Nikki describes Mr. Zimmerman as an insane middle-aged man. He likes to drink coffee, eat Pez candies out of a Scooby-Doo Pez dispenser, and watch SpongeBob SquarePants. He is rude and snarky, but at the same time, she likes him for giving her a chance to be Miss-Know-It-All and awarding her a certificate.
In Dork Diaries 9: Tales from a Not-So Dorky Drama Queen, he created the Miss Know it All Website, and accidentally used his to-do list for the username and password.
He was mentioned in Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Perfect Pet Sitter, when Nikki asked Brandon about the free pizza he got back in book 9.
In Nikki's Blog he was mentioned in "Library Disaster"[1], where it was revealed that his first name is Richard, he attended Westchester Country Day, and he dated Michele Parker, the current History Teacher. All these were revealed in a yearbook of 1982, so it is hinted that he was born in the 1960's.

Appearance[]
Mr. Zimmerman wears glasses and wears wrinkled clothing. He has an unevenly shaved face and scruffy hair and hair in his arms pits.
